Massive 8.9-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan

Massive 8.9-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan

On 03/11/2011, a massive 8.9-magnitude earthquake hit just beyond the coast of Japan, bringing about a tsunami that resulted in pandemic devastation and destruction.

Japan's juxtaposition of ancient temples or futuristic cities mist-shrouded hills or lightning-fast bullet trains are just a tidbit of what this rich in culture nation has to offer.

Although geographically speaking, Japan is small compared to other countries you could literally spend weeks in cities such as Kyoto and Nara, enrapture yourself on temples, shrines, kabuki, ō (stylised dance-drama), tea ceremonies and museums packed with treasures from Japan's rich artistic heritage.

Japan's cities are an absolute wonderland when it comes to modern culture and technology.  Japan makes it easy to take a peek into the future of the human race, complete with trend-setting cafés and fabulous restaurants.

Japan is an absolute marvel when it comes to culture, technology, and is a prodigious contributor to the world.  Let's all keep them in our hearts, mind, and prayers as they begin the recovery process from this natural disaster.
