Resort, Golf Course, and Waterfront Living

Bentwater a master-planned gated golf course and lake community exists in perfect harmony with its environment. It encompasses 1,400-acres and boasts 2,000 residents all nestled between the 22,000-acre Lake Conroe and the 160,000-acre Sam Houston National Forest.

Bentwater is a combination of tranquil, upscale living with a multitude of recreational amenities that include but are not limited to a prestigious Country Club, a Signature Landmark Yacht Club and Marina on Lake Conroe’s North Shore, a Seven Acre Park. Texas’ only waterfront, gated community offering 54-holes of Championship Golf, Pro Shop, Resort Style Pools, Racquet Club with stadium style tennis courts, Aerobics Instructors, a Full-Service Day Spa complete with Massage Therapists, a 10,000 square foot state-of-the-art Fitness Center, Fitness Classes, and Personal Trainers.

Residents Colonel Vincent & Sandra Jefferson moved on up to Bentwater in the summer 2007 with the purchase of a spacious well laid out traditional style home located on the 18th hole of the Miller Course designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish. The Miller Golf Course was the first developed of the three golf courses that Bentwater proudly boast.

Although, the Jefferson’s purchased their home in the summer of 2007, they did not actually move in until late 2011. Once they were unpacked and settled, they immediately began getting acquainted with neighbors, and the amenities of Bentwater’s Golf and Lake living as well as offering up professional services of their own in the area of fitness and personal training.

While their home and the community of Bentwater offers numerous amenities; the Jefferson’s did not hesitate to add some personal touches of their own to the newly acquired home. They decided to begin in the most obvious place, the family room and kitchen. These are the entertaining hubs of most all homes.

The foundation of their family room and kitchen’s flooring, cabinets, and appliances were adorned with staple products and materials such as a combination of slate and wood flooring, custom built cabinets, granite counter tops, Sub Zero fridge and Viking range.

Mrs. Jefferson and Beautifully Done Custom Drapery worked together to select fabric choices that were warm, inviting, tasteful, and that would tie the rooms together and create a space that is comfortable and relaxing, but not at the consequence of elegance.

The pair agreed on window treatments and a style that would not only compliment, but dress, and frame the windows in both entertaining areas of the home without compromising it’s grand view of the luscious greens of Bentwater’s Miller Golf Course.

Mrs. Jefferson, only endured a delivery and installation of a brief two week wait and the installation of her Beautifully Done Custom Drapery took all but two hours. Upon the revealing of the new addition to her space, Mrs. Jefferson was delightfully amazed to see that her Beautifully Done Custom Drapery went well beyond her expectations as she made mention of by stating that “…this is one of the rare times in life when my expectations are exceeded!” and that “…the client testimonials fall short of what is actually delivered!”

Ahh Spring Break

It's Spring Break, and while the kids are away enjoying the coast, lake, or bay we can stay at home and be free to maintain a clean house and play.

Yes, I'm fully aware of the sometimes daunting task of Spring Cleaning, which I totally love.  Who can't get excited about having the house to yourself and the full uninterrupted and unchallegened reduction of clutter.

When the family returns they won't miss any of the unused clutter that the so dearly cling to.  Those worn out shoes in the back of the closet or those magazines that haven't been viewed for months.  While they are dancing to the tunes on the beach I will making things clean and neat marching to my own beat.

Yes, this my time to dress my walls and windows that currently have less on them than the beach goers themselves.  I will start with my sofa and flooring to develop my color scheme and fabric choice.  The flooring will be most dominant as sofas have much shorter life spans.

However, the sofa is relevant and plays a major role in the selection of my window treatments.
Not so much the color but more the style.

The sofa type will generally lead me in the proper direction when it comes to style, whehter it's causal, formal, traditional, or eclectic.

Sofas will also influence the texture of your fabric selection.  Silk, suede, and velvet are always  excellent compliments to leather sofas; while upholstered sofas will provide the most latitude and the greatest ranges of fabrics such as chenille, cotton, or linen.

Finally, I will allow my door handles, knobs, stair railings, lighting fixtures, and ceiling fans to assist me in the selection of my drapery hardware.  I will pay attention to what is present in my room as the last thing that I would like to do is ignore the obvious signs and be forced to reinvest and change out my home's hardware to allow my window treatments to work cohesively.

Once complete, family and friends are sure to appreciate the warm, and comfort of my window treatments and time that I spent working on my room during my Spring Break!   I hope that you and your family enjoy your Spring Break as much I enjoy mine.
